Upon the closing date with your tenants, you have two years to apply. Multi-units and co-operative housing also apply, however, the paperwork can be much more complex. That’s why our team takes the time to get to know you, your circumstance, and begin personalizing your rebate journey. And the best part? We do everything for you and you don’t have to pay us until you get your money back.

Substantially Renovated Home Rebate

Have you completed a substantial renovation or added a major addition to your home or investment property within the last two years? Then you may qualify for the GST/HST New Housing Rebate for a maximum amount of $30,000 if you’re a Canadian resident.

According to the CRA, 90% or more of your home’s interior must be removed or replaced in order to be considered a substantial renovation. When it comes to a major addition, it should be double the size of the other liveable areas of your home (for example adding a second story). Remember to keep all receipts where GST/HST has been paid for goods and services.
