If you’re a Canadian landlord and want to know your housing rebate eligibility for the GST/HST New Housing Rebate/Residential Rental Property Rebate (NRRP), you must have:
- Purchased a newly built property as an investment in the past two years, with GST/HST paid on top of the purchase price
- Signed on to have tenants for a minimum of one year
- Not lived in, and not allowed relatives to live in, the property prior to your tenant taking occupancy
